Meet the Founder

AFRIDON was founded to provide credible academic, research, and career mentorship grounded in scholarship, excellence, and ethical support.

Dr Festus Ifeanyi Anagwu, Founder of AFRIDON

Dr Festus Ifeanyi Anagwu

Chemical Engineer, Polymer Scientist, Composite Process Scientist, Composites Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Founder of AFRIDON

Dr Festus Ifeanyi Anagwu is a Nigerian scientist, academic mentor, and founder of AFRIDON. He founded AFRIDON to help students, researchers, and early-career professionals approach academic and research-related challenges with greater clarity, structure, confidence, and credible guidance.

With academic and professional experience spanning Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Europe, Dr Anagwu brings a strong understanding of research culture, academic expectations, scientific communication, and the demands of competitive academic progression. Through AFRIDON, Dr Anagwu is committed to supporting individuals who need ethical mentorship and practical direction in research, postgraduate applications, scholarships, fellowships, postdoctoral opportunities, and academic development.

Academic Background

Dr Anagwu studied Chemical Engineering at Anambra State University, Uli, where he obtained the Bachelor of Engineering degree with second class upper division. He later earned a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

He went on to receive a PhD in Manufacturing from Cranfield University, specialising in polymers and composites engineering, with research focused on sustainable aerospace composites design, process science, and advanced materials manufacturing. He is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) as well as the European Society for Composite Materials (ESCM).

Professional Experience

Before his doctoral research, Dr Anagwu lectured in Chemical Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede-Owerri, Nigeria. During his PhD, he was employed as a Research Assistant in Thermoset Composites Process Science within the Cranfield School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, where he contributed in many EU-sponsored collaborative projects. He later advanced into high-level research in materials science, polymer science, composite manufacturing, and process engineering across academic and applied research environments.

He is currently a Research and Technology Scientist in polymer and composites process science, working with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology and collaborating with industry partners. His current research role spans design, materials development, process modelling, data analysis, and advanced manufacturing.

Research Distinction and Industry Relevance

A major distinction of Dr Anagwu’s academic career is the cutting-edge vitrimer research he conducted during his PhD. During that work, he designed an aerospace-grade polybenzoxazine vitrimer (Cranfield vitrimer), a breakthrough that later contributed to Cranfield University’s inclusion in the 12-member European Union PLEIADES consortium, which uses Cranfield vitrimer as the basis of development for a vitrimeric composite solution to create Advanced Aerospace Composites, aiming to promote sustainability and circularity, as well as cost savings of at least 30-40%.

He later advanced this contribution further by publishing the process models that made the vitrimer system manufacturable for fibre-reinforced composite applications. This publication was subsequently highlighted by the PLEIADES consortium, underlining the practical relevance of the work to the broader European research effort. Each of the two publications mentioned herein is a specific chapter in Dr Anagwu’s PhD Thesis, which can be accessed through this LINK.

In addition to this, Dr Anagwu collaborates with major industrial stakeholders, including Airbus and Thales Alenia Space, through other European aeronautical and space-related vitrimer projects.

Why AFRIDON Was Founded

AFRIDON was founded from a clear conviction: many talented students and researchers struggle not because they lack potential, but because they lack access to structured, credible, and ethical guidance.

Dr Anagwu founded AFRIDON to help bridge that gap. The platform exists to provide thoughtful mentorship, practical support, and academically responsible guidance that help individuals strengthen their work without compromising originality or integrity.

The goal is not simply to help people complete applications or research projects, but to help them grow in understanding, confidence, and long-term academic capacity.

Founder Philosophy

Dr Anagwu believes that meaningful academic support must be built on clarity, rigour, integrity, and genuine development. For him, mentorship is not about replacing the work of the learner or applicant. It is about helping people think better, present themselves more strongly, and move forward with purpose.

That belief shapes AFRIDON’s approach to every service it provides.
